If I considered my life simply according to the performance parameters of the aircrafts I had the chance to “fly” in subsequent periods, I should consider it as a parabola, whose vertex is my flight on the Shuttle.
In my opinion, instead, the yardstick is what we have done for ourselves and what, at some point, we decide to do for the others.
Today, in my business, as small entrepreneur in the aviation industry, it is not the performances of the aircraft we produce that make me satisfied and happy about my activity: the aircraft we produce has great performances for its class, but really low if compared to the Eurofighter Typhoon or even to the Space Shuttle!
In my previous lives, the goal was to “build something for me”, nowadays my greatest accomplishment comes from the possibility of making the most of my aviation technical skills – result of several years of high-level work – and build something for others.

The organization of a space mission offers several parallelisms with the organization of a successful company: the preparation and definition of the mission, the allocation of resources, the definition of the roles of people, the management of the operative flow, the capacity to face the unexpected and react.
